What is Coach Education
Effective coaches are always looking at ways in which they can improve their coaching.
Coach education is an heavily under utilised area of research and practice in sport. Usually coaches are educated by other more experienced coaches however there is lots to be gained from coaches being taught by experts in sport and exercise psychology and sport science.
The aim of coach education from Sport Psychology Kent is to provide up to date research, science, and practice education to the most focussed, effective, and passionate coaches in the UK.
What to expect from a coach education session.
Coach education can be delivered in a variety of forms and the specific form that your training will take will be determined by you or your organisations needs.
The initial phases of your training will involved an needs analysis and skills audit that will help outline what action needs to be taken to develop you and your coaches.
The training phase will usually consist of a variety of potential methods such as education workshops, practical training, observation and feedback by a psychologist, one to one training/ supervision, reflective practice.
